For Jamie Huffman, opportunities grow out of strong relationships. As a Project Lead at ORANGEWALLstudios, he also knows that meaningful architecture grows out of deep client relationships, which can generate the insight needed to create and shape authentic spaces that reflect client needs and personalities.
While design and artistic expression have always been a part of his DNA, Jamie grew up framing homes in a family of home builders. On summer breaks from architecture school on the East Coast, he’d return home to work in the Portland suburbs, balancing his budding conceptual skills with hands-on knowledge of building materials and systems, experience not generally associated in the skill set of an architect.
His dual experience helps him bridge barriers, ease tensions and squash ego flare-ups among the diverse teams involved in building process. Jamie’s open to taking risks, and has been involved in a number of entrepreneurial ventures and start-ups, working in various design capacities from creative director to fabricator, as well as starting his own custom furniture design/build company.
