Having lived and worked in a variety of places, ranging from a small desert town to Times Square and abroad, Karen has experienced the many ways that the built environment influences our daily life.  She cares deeply about the architect’s role of stewardship in fostering healthy communities. She enjoys the problem-solving aspects of architecture and the challenge of designing something both functional and beautiful that also matches the client’s vision. As Senior Project Architect/Project Manager, Karen’s role at the studio will be to direct quality assurance/quality control processes, facilitate client communications and establish internal project schedules and budgeting. Karen's experience with a broad range of project types including residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, winery, and adaptive reuse/historic renovation has offered her a chance to realize that all projects and clients, large or small, require and deserve the same level of care and attention.

VISION

All of ORANGEWALL’s values are important, although one or another may rise to take center stage at various points in a project’s development or just our daily interactions. As a Project Manager, I focus on “vision” as a way to consistently check back in with the project goals as the team progresses from one phase to the next. What is the problem we are trying to solve at any given time, and how does it tie back to the original intent? Are we all on the same page as we strive to reach those goals? And, when we can joyfully achieve this vision through a careful process while treating all team members with empathy and respect...? There you go. That’s our values in action.
